Since 2007, the Maison de la Photographie Robert Doisneau has been putting into place a series of cultural and educational actions adapted to different publics. Guided tours, workshops, specific projects and the possibility to meet the photographers are just some of a wide range of different ways to discover current exhibitions and share this experience with others.
The objective of cultural coordination and our educational programme is, by proposing suitable actions, to enable each public to develop their own point of view and visual sensibility. These actions provide the keys to apprehend visual language and to understand or further develop one’s understanding of the structure, meaning and purpose of photography. Finally, they encourage expression and dialogue, as well as building bridges with other art forms.
Workshops (reserved for a young public) introduce participants to an exhibition’s theme through various artistic or literary activities. They are an intuitive way of discovering the medium of photography and exploring one’s own creativity. A hands-on approach is favoured, in particular in the Photographie à l’École (photography at school)project, which introduces primary school pupils to photography over the school year.
Guided tours are available in English with prior notice.
